Slow Food is a global, grassroots movement with thousands of members around the world. They seek to create dramatic and lasting change in the food system by inspiring a transformation in food policy, production practices and market forces so that they ensure equity, sustainability and pleasure in the food we eat.

Krista Roberts, President of Slow Food Denver, will speak at the January EcoTuesday event in Denver. Krista will share information about the Slow Food Movement, Slow Food Denver’s programs and specifically how this non-profit, grassroots organization is influencing and creating sustainable impact here in Denver.        To learn more about Slow Food: slowfooddenver.org slowfoodusa.org     Krista Roberts spent the first 12 years of her career as a Management Consultant with Accenture and Director of Executive Development Programs at Durham University, England. After working with corporate clients in the US and England, Krista decided to focus on her passion for food. She completed professional culinary training at Cook Street School of Fine Cooking in Denver and continued her cooking education at Duo Restaurant. Krista is passionate about teaching cooking, supporting local producers, sustainable food systems and educating children about growing and cooking food.  After 4 short months, Denver’s EcoTuesday has seen impressive line up of speakers. This month will be no exception and Denver is in for a treat. Dan Jacobs, founder of Everywun, will be speaking on November 17th, at a green venue - Element Hotel.

Mr. Jacobs, a philanthropist and an entrepreneur, founded Everywun in 2008 on the basis that everyone can make a difference cost-free and hassle-free. The idea is simply brilliant. Join Everywun for free, then take quizzes, invite friends, post badges on social media sites and earn points. Redeem points to help causes you believe in such as environmental, animals, poverty, etc. This unique idea is to allow every person in the world to change the world.   Do you want to change the world but have no idea where to begin? Come to November’s EcoTuesday to learn from Dan Jacobs how to align your life with your values. He will give pointers on how to individually better the world with our hectic, busy schedules. The best part is that EcoTuesday will be held at Denver’s first GREEN from the group up hotel Element near Park Meadows Mall. So come out to check out floors made from recycled tires and network with local business leaders. See you there! RSVP for the Denver EcoTuesday today!
