THE INTERSECTION OF BUSINESS & THE ENVIRONMENT
-EcoTuesday to host expert panel that will discuss challenges and opportunities for these two areas to co-exist in today’s marketplace-
SAN FRANCISCO – April 1, 2009 – EcoTuesday, a structured monthly networking event for sustainable business leaders, will host a panel discussion in celebration of Earth Day on April 28 from 6:30-9:00 pm at Sir Francis Drake Hotel in San Francisco. The panel will discuss the intersection between business and the environment in the emerging green economy, and share their thoughts on the recent economic stimulus package and its potential impact on innovation in both of these areas.
Panelists include: Elliott Hoffman, Founder of The New Voice of Business, which promotes economic, social and environmental sustainability in the United States; Felicia Marcus, Western Regional Director of the National Resources Defense Council, the nation's most effective environmental action group, and John Knox, Executive Director of Earth Island Institute, an organization that encourages activism around environmental issues and provides public education.
Attendees will learn how environmental issues are contributing to a profound shift in how businesses operate. The panel will showcase the rapidly evolving relationship between business leaders and environmental advocates, including an in depth discussion of emerging business practices for managing the environmental regulations and rules that are shaping how companies do business in California and across the country.
Environmental policies dramatically impact businesses, individuals and communities,” says EcoTuesday founder Nikki Pava. “In this dynamic context, EcoTuesday features experts on a range of important environmental issues. This panel will underscore the influence the environment has on business, and vice versa.”
